About Us:
We are a charming eatery in a restored historical building in downtown Bolivar, Missouri. Basil & Bourbon mixes the elegance of an old-world cafe with the relaxed atmosphere of a neighborhood bistro. Our goal is simple: to celebrate markets and farmers from season to season, while nurturing our kitchen staff with a combination of authenticity and spontaneity.
Expectations:
- Work-weeks are 5 days per week. Days off may be split depending on circumstances or preference. Workdays are 4-6 hours/shift.
- Weekend availability a must.
- Ability to operate in a verbal “fire” kitchen.
- Keep tickets times within standard parameters.
- Demonstrate skill at plating, visual presentation, and composition.
- Cook and prepare all menu items following standardized recipes.
- Help create and execute daily specials.
- Industry Trend Awareness.
- Understand all safety standards and be able to effectively and concisely respond when procedures are compromised.
- Follow health code compliance and sanitation standards.
- Make sure that the kitchen is properly cleaned on a regular schedule.

- Continuously display a positive and supportive outlook toward the job, peers, and staff.
- Provide leadership in moments of problem-solving and not be afraid to “make the call”.
