What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grocery Manager position at Bass Pro Shops?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Grocery Manager will oversee the grocery departments for both Harrison, AR and Branson, MO locations. The Manager will directly work with the coordinators and manage grocery category management, product development, seasonal and monthly sales, merchandising, weekly orders, and customer requests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Orders all groceries for distribution and direct lines.
Communicates with Grocery Coordinators to ensure duties are completed, resources are available, and responsibilities are delegated appropriately.
Reviews grocery customer requests weekly and add items. Follow up with customers accordingly.
Stages new grocery items as they arrive.
Runs Item Movement reports, closes out slow sellers and keeps sections fresh and functional.
Resets and rearranges product regularly.
Resets grocery endcaps monthly and seasonally.
Utilizes SPINS data where applicable to determine rotation of new items.
Collaborate with grocery representatives.
Assists with INFRA sales monthly to bring in advertised items we don't currently carry and plan promotions.
Determines spending budgets for Grocery Coordinators.
Collaborate with vendors and representatives to maximize spending budget.
ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: 5 years of experience in Grocery and/or Management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
Knowledge of natural and organic products
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience managing a team and leadership capabilities.
Experience in a customer service environment.
Excellent time management skills.
Able to maintain efficiency and accuracy.
Excellent self-motivation and initiative while unsupervised.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Up to 4 times per year to trade shows
Regular trips to the Harrison, AR location
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regular computer work, waling and standing
Occasional sitting and lifting up to 50lb
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
Develops strategic direction, goals, plans and policies for an area of responsibility. Sets broad objectives and is accountable for overall results in respective area of responsibility. Authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance. Requires high degree of independent judgment and problem solving of complex problems.
