POSITION SUMMARY:
An Information Security Analyst 1 assists in the monitoring and reporting of security incidents related to the company computer systems and networks. Assists in development of processes and procedures that will provide strong security layers for the organization’s systems. Works with project and department teams to identify and resolve PCI, Sarbanes, C-TPAT and other compliance and security issues, and creates, distributes and provides training materials and sessions on IT Security awareness. Protecting the organizations computer and communications network from intrusion and compromise requires constant monitoring of network traffic, ongoing security awareness by the entire company, and diligent analysis of the way the organization decides to implement new technologies and business processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Analyze logs, account management and other security procedures. Work with other analysts and department management to provide leadership and guidance for the creation and implementation of remediation processes to correct failures in security requirements – 30%
- Use knowledge of compliance requirements to help project and departmental teams put necessary safeguards and business best practices to use when implementing new technology or business processes – 20%
- Review the security and compliance posture of current systems and perform information security assessments or audits of internal networks and systems in cooperation with management. Document findings in written reports with recommendations for remediation – 20%
- Draft and disseminate security policy to address contemporary security threats and vulnerabilities – 10%
- Mentor and train junior staff, interns, and security liaison with other BU's and IT groups – 20%
- ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Cyber Security or equivalent IT work experience.
Experience: 2-4 years
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
- Security Certification preferred
- Prior experience in Information Security, compliance, system administrator or related fields
- Ability to collaborate with others and document situations
- Desire to learn new tools
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Possibility of infrequent traveling.
