The Pharmacy Budget Analyst will work Full Time, Days and performs data analysis and advises pharmacy leadership and staff on various financial aspects of pharmacy operations. The Pharmacy Budget Analyst ensures the department is on track to meet financial goals by monitoring the day-to-day financial operations within the department The Pharmacy Budget Analyst will have a working knowledge of the pharmacy operations in a variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient, community and clinic settings. The Pharmacy Budget Analyst will have a strong knowledge of the 340b drug program and acts as a liaison between finance, pharmacy leadership, and pharmacy teams. The Pharmacy Budget Analyst works closely with pharmacy leadership to determine and implement best practices for preparing the annual budget and reporting on monthly variances to leadership.

The Pharmacy Budget Analyst is responsible for coordinating the business and finance activities of the Department of Pharmacy with direction from the Pharmacy Leadership Team. The Pharmacy Budget Analyst will collaborate closely with departmental and organizational leadership to continually assess and direct a wide range of issues, including operational, budgetary, long-range planning and project development. The Pharmacy Budget Analyst displays a high degree of initiative and independent judgment. Possesses a thorough knowledge of the regulatory environment as it relates to health care reimbursement and compliance, and contract management. Requires discretion and judgment to organize priorities, complete tasks and handle confidential information.

• The Pharmacy Budget Analyst assists with preparing annual operating and pharmaceutical budgets.
• Forecasts drug expense for purposes of revenue and expense budget planning.
• The Pharmacy Budget Analyst analyzes, monitors and reports on financial performance both internal to the department and within the organization.
• Works with Pharmacy leadership team to manages pharmacy cost centers; staying on target with budgetary goals.
• Prepares monthly audits and summaries of budget variances.
• Works with other hospital departments, and interdepartmental ambulatory clinics on annual budgeting related to pharmaceutical expense.
• Responsible for leading department planning, submission, and implementation of capitol request process.
• Develops goals, objectives, and budgets that support the pharmacy services mission of Bassett Healthcare network.
• The Pharmacy Budget Analyst works with the Pharmacy leadership and organizational leadership on the implementation of short and long-term operational strategies for the Pharmacy Department.
• Works with Pharmacy Leadership team to provide operational, financial, and drug utilization analytics data and dashboards that support the pharmacy team, department, and organization.
• The Pharmacy Budget Analyst manages business operations effectively; effective follow-though and follow-up; takes accountability; solves problems and implements solutions; integrates financial understanding into solutions; demonstrates technical proficiency.
• Works with Finance and Pharmacy leadership teams  to ensure optimization of the 340b drug program in the Bassett Healthcare Network.
• The Pharmacy Budget Analyst creates and develops business plans and models and proposes changes associated with departmental activities and clinical activities where appropriate; helps to educate departmental leadership in management and strategic planning.
• Prepare and assist in the preparation of proformas or other financial analyses as required for the support pharmacy throughout the network.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Science or Healthcare, required.
• Master's Degree in Buisness, Science or Healthcare, preferred.

Experience:

• At least 5 years of experience in billing, revenue, and financial analysis required.
• At least 5 years of Healthcare or Pharmacy experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:
