Description/Responsibilities

Inspect new and existing electrical systems to ensure that the work is performed in compliance with approved plans.

  • Perform electrical testing and mechanical inspection of custom products.
  • Use of measuring instruments such as meters, Hi pot tester, and Amp meter to accomplish daily tasks.
  • Requires corrections to be made when defects and faults are discovered.
  • Inspect new and existing wring and electrical installations.
  • Objectively interpret and consistently apply code requirements and related standards in accordance with department policies.
  • Determine record test data and maintain documents associated with all job functions.
  • Use graphic instructions such as blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts, or other visual aids.
  • Perform electrical plan review for projects to determine compliance with applicable electrical codes.

Qualifications


  • High School Diploma
  • Three years of experience as a journey-level electrician
  • Four years work experience in industrial controls
  • Fundamental principles of electricity
  • Mathematical principals required to perform related technical calculations
  • Basic computer knowledge – Microsoft Applications
  • Understanding of UL® (Underwriters Laboratories) policies and procedures
  • Materials and methods used in electrical wiring and equipment installations
