Batavia Administrative Corp is seeking an IT Technician to join its team. We’re looking for a qualified IT Technician that will install and maintain computer systems and networks aiming for the highest functionality.
As an IT Technician you will build and maintain updated and efficient computer systems and networks to optimize the role of technology on business sustainability and work with multiple company departments to ensure all computer systems are secured. Position reports to the Vice-President.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Manage IT and computer systems
- Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data processes
- Ensure security and privacy of data, network access, computer, and backup systems
- Act in alignment with employee needs and system functionality to contribute to Batavia's policy
- Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
- Test computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
- Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
- Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
- Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in timely manner
- Provide employee guidance on how to operate new software and computer equipment
- Audit systems and assess outcome
- Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without preventing others from completing assignments
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
- Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedules
- Identify computer or network equipment shortages, placing orders in timely manner
- Manage annual IT budget and ensure cost effectiveness
Requirement and skills
- Minimum 5-year experience as an IT Technician
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
- Expert in data center management and data governance
- In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
- Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
- Proven knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
