What are the responsibilities and job description for the CM Office Engineer position at Bath & Body Works?
Mark Thomas is always accepting applications for Construction Management Office Engineers! Under the supervision of the assigned Resident Engineer or CM Manager, the CM Office Engineer (OE) supports the Resident Engineer (RE) and other Construction Management staff such as Inspectors assigned to the project. The OE may provide support for various construction areas, means and methods such as inspection reports, inspection of traffic control system compliance, CCO preparation and analysis, CPM scheduling analysis, and SWPPP enforcement. Other areas may include but are not necessarily limited to documentation for electrical & instrumentation work, plumbing and piping, power and controls, drainage systems, landscaping, and grading.
REQUIREMENTS
- Shows knowledge and understanding of pertinent contract documents and references specific to the project
- Maintains an organized and complete set of records and procedures for the project
- Receives, distributes, processes and files all documents from the contractor, subconsultants, client, Mark Thomas management and any other stakeholders
- Maintains the as-built drawings
- Maintains labor compliance documentation
- Performs minor or routine field inspections when required
- Attends and supports bi-weekly safety meetings
- Occasionally provides direction to the office technician(s) and/or other administrative staff
- Logs and tracks submittals for review and other relevant information
- Logs and tracks contract change orders (CCOs) and CCO payments
- Prepares calculations of quantities for progress payments and CCOs as needed
- Prepares progress payment estimates including adjustments, using the information submitted by the RE/Inspectors
- Assists the RE in preparing final project closeout documents, including the resolution of potential claims
- Monitors and schedules all necessary construction staking/surveys, field and material inspections, and specialty testing as required throughout the contract
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering
- 1-2 years of general construction experience including calculations and quantities
- EIT (Engineering in Training) certification a plus
- Familiar with the use of general office equipment, computers
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook or equal)
- Valid CA driver’s license
- Willingness to travel
- Competent verbal and written communication skills

The offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. The base compensation range for this position is $31.00 - $42.00 per hour.
