This internship opportunity will give you an in-depth exposure to software engineering methods and engineering processes.
Reporting to the Computer Engineering Manager, you will work in the following languages and frameworks: Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Angular, Docker, Git and GitLab, Python, PyTest, Minitest, Selenium., in an open-source environment. You will work with the MFC Software Engineering team to complete projects related to nuclear material tracking, developing an application called NUTRON. Additionally, you will gather data from systems and instruments designed to test experimental nuclear samples. You could join a team that practices Agile Development using the Scrum framework; participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning session/reviews, and joining a daily stand-up. You are expected to follow Software Engineering best practices, such as: maintaining code in version control, writing unit and system tests, following code conventions, established control workflows, and supporting continuous integration. You will update documentation and take part in code reviews.
This team works a 4x10 schedule and works onsite at our Materials and Fuels Complex located near Idaho Falls, Idaho.
