POSITION SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Management of Graphic
Design Team Project management of design requests using Monday.com
Collaboration with creative team on project ideation and execution for other ministries
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure on-time, on-budget results
Write content for print materials when necessary
Collaboration with Video and Marketing directors
Lead art team and encourage personal and professional development
Point person for all printed orders, working with vendors, placing orders, and making sure orders come in on time and of BattleCreek standards
Working with vendors to find quality products for the church
Manage churchwide printing budget
Point person for all ministry questions prior to project delegation
Presents ideas in creative meetings
Updating website and adding events as needed
Ensures projects fit with brand guidelines and are of high quality
50% of time spent is Management & Development of team
50% of time spent executing design projects
DEPARTMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Budgeting: Sets realistic and goal driven budgets in line with vision and consistently operates within those limits and focus on cost containment
Goal Setting: Establishes organizational driven goals for department and subordinates and directs their annual fulfillment with a focus on continuous improvement
Directing Strategy: Directs strategy, planning, forecasting, staffing and succession planning in consort with Executive Team and/or Pastor’s Council
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Consistency: Consistent in rewards and/or discipline and in the application of policies and procedures
Continuous Improvement: Personally, continuously improves and leads others to do the same in line with goals and core values
Employee Supervision: Supervises and oversees assigned department staff ensuring appropriate level of talent in subordinate positions
Employment Law: Understands basic employment laws and ways to protect the organization through minimizing liability. Consults with Human Resources
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Leadership skills with clear communication, vision, time management, delegation, and follow up
2 year of management experience
2 years of graphic design experience
Multitasking management of executors while also working on other projects
Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite
Good understanding of color, line, composition, and design
Bachelors in Graphic Design preferred but not required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position operated in a professional office environment but may require the following physical demands: general lifting of materials up to 20 pounds, bending kneeling, carrying, walking, and using hands/fingers to handle items. May include days where hours sitting at a computer are needed. Ability to acclimate to weather for outdoor events as needed.
