The product manager is responsible for the continued development and overall management of Baudville’s direct to consumer tangible product line. Responsibilities to include ensuring appropriate product mix and associated page allocation within the various catalog types, total lifecycle management, assisting in creative direction and approval coordination, financial evaluation of new and existing product lines/categories, product positioning and coordination of the entire launch cycle from inception of an idea through original sourcing. Person in this role should have advanced analytical abilities and a keen sense for great design. The position also requires management of a staff and assets, and great coordination and collaboration with cross functional teams.Please note: This role is not a technology product manager but a physical goods product manager and requires regular on-site duties for review of product disposition and collaboration with the product team.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Managing to success, products and product categories. Understand product and category relationships to the total product offering and managing those products through their life cycle.
  • Elements of success include sales growth in both new and legacy products/categories, managing product mix, developing appropriate pricing models and product positioning as it relates to merchandising and management of the total lifecycle of a product. 
  • Manage and evaluate product from resource allocation through revenue generation. Oversee the development cycle to ensure appropriate products are created to meet revenue goals. 
  • Consistently seek to understand the Baudville customer and be a steward of serving that customer in the best way possible through product development, positioning, surveying, internal or external focus groups, customer calling, etc.Lead a team of Baudville Product Specialists who will support the product development process at all stages while being responsible for all custom ordering and sales presentations for the Baudville brand
  • Create product positioning and work directly with Marketing to ensure proper execution and exposure of products. Ability to measure success of these strategies.
  • Work directly with the sourcing to ensure our vendors are meeting appropriate product quality, service, and pricing standards while ensuring on-time delivery of scheduled product launches.
  • Understanding how to use both legacy data and trend information to justify a product launch.
  • Make recommendations for mark-up and mark-down rates, and selling prices for merchandise while maximizing margin
  • Leverage internal sales data and data from vendors and partners to make informed timely decisions

  • Sustainable growth in top three strategic priority categories – Everyday Gifts, Awards, Promotional
  • Manage to product P&L revenue and spend targets
  • Positive return on ad spend across all legacy categories
  • Maintaining and/or increasing our corporate margin %
  • Sales support leading to at 20-30% growth in custom orders

REQUIREMENTS:
  • 5 years of experience in product development and/or management
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or relevant subject
  • Affinity for working both individually and in a team
  • Ability to monitor and manage budgets
  • Maintain and balance both a high standard of quality and speed in productivity
  • Ability to negotiate and navigate terms of agreements
  • Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to the job
  • Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
  • Able to work with sensitive and/or confidential information
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
