What are the responsibilities and job description for the PREP AM position at Baumer Foods, Inc?
Position Overview:
Preparation Department employees are responsible for daily operations of equipment to produce high quality food products. Team members are expected to take an active role in the areas of safety, quality and productivity. Good communication, interpersonal and team building skills are essential.
Essential Duties:
o Sets up and operates power and manual machines
o Basic repairs when needed
o Must be able to follow a batch formula, in accordance to proper scaling of ingredients, following proper mixing instructions
o Ability to identify out of code perishable ingredients
o Ability to read and comprehend production documents, such as batch formulas
o Loads and feeds ingredients, as well as other supplies into machines
o Monitors a variety of functions and responds to problems as needed
o Provides sanitary assessment and cleaning of area assigned
o Ability to endure long periods of standing, walking, and sufficient physical strength and ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 55 lbs.
o Ability to understand safety procedures
o Ability to fill out batch formulas and productions sheets
o Insure that product meets quality standards
o Employee must be aware of his/her surroundings at all times while working in the plant as duties include possible exposure to steam, water, moving machinery, mechanical parts and forklifts
o Hearing protection in the form of eat plugs must be worn at all times while in the production area. Ear plugs are provided by the company
o Other duties as assigned
