The Staff Accountant is an integral part of the US Finance function within the US Controller’s organization. This group specifically provides accounting services to operations and functions, such as, Corporate, Inventory, Commercial Operations, Fixed Assets, Intercompany, Royalties, Inventory and Sarbanes Oxley. The successful incumbent will be responsible for a variety of accounting responsibilities, including monthly close activities and a variety of special projects.
This is a hybrid position with three days in office in our Bridgewater, New Jersey HQ.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Journal entries including activity related to fixed assets, inventory and COGS, cash activity, deferred revenue, intercompany, and other income and expense as needed
Open/Close GL monthly and upload results into HFM
Run FX revaluation program
Balance sheet account reconciliations
Balance sheet account roll forwards, including variance analysis and explanations
Preparation of variance commentary for the monthly actuals review (MAR)
Maintenance of allocation programs in ERP system as needed
SOX 404 control testing and documentation
Support internal and external SOX 404 audit requests and compliance requirements
Monthly distribution of functional area reporting
EXPERIENCE:
Support departmental, functional, and corporate initiatives
Assist with the application of GAAP to new transactions
Establish rapport and build cooperative, respectful working relationships with relevant internal and external parties
As departmental workloads change, additional responsibilities may be required
Creative problem solver
Excellent verbal and writing skills
Process mindset with focus on continuous improvement
Knowledge of internal controls and segregation of duties
Performs well under pressure (e.g. changing priorities and tight deadlines)
Demonstrates high level of maturity, self-motivation and team-orientation
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
Required: Advanced MS Excel / MS Office
Preferred: CPA, MBA and/or public accounting experience
Preferred: Experience with HFM/PeopleSoft/ Microsoft Dynamics 365
Preferred: 1-3 years of experience with similar responsibilities
