Summary:
The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for coordinating financial activities, managing budget and forecast processes, ensuring financial controls, and providing strategic support to the commercial team. This role involves analyzing financial data, generating reports, and providing insights to drive business decisions. The Manager will also provide leadership and mentorship to the US Surgical Finance Team.

Responsibilities:
Coordinate monthly closings, ensuring correct financial results with minimal adjustments. Review general ledger entries and balance sheet reconciliations, providing additional analysis to explain financial activity.

Provide final results analysis to the core leadership team through profit and loss (P&L) statements and dashboard metrics. Conduct monthly reviews of financial results with the North Americas Senior Leadership Team.

Manage budget and forecast preparation process, from initial planning to the final presentation. Set timelines and responsibilities within core finance team and commercial functions to achieve timely and accurate results. Provide overview analysis of Plan/Forecast to Commercial leadership.

Ensure that proper financial controls are in place and that all tasks are performed in compliance with the Code of Ethics. Maintain system access controls and implement mitigating controls to review any role conflicts.

Collaborate with business partners to evaluate business decisions, ensuring financial objectives are met. Drive and support efforts to reduce costs and increase efficiencies, optimizing the profit and loss statement (PNL).

Assist co-workers with day-to day financial activities and transactions.

Enhance financial systems as business needs change, providing support for system implementations and upgrades.

Participate in weekly "Deal Evaluation Committee" meetings to represent finance in review of deals outside the range of generally accepted margin rates.

Partner with commercial leadership in preparing strategic planning models, including long-term 7-10 year modeling and return on investment (ROI) modeling for acquisitions or portfolio expansions.

Provide general ad hoc support for the commercial team and corporate finance/accounting.

Provide leadership, mentoring and development opportunities to US Surgical Finance team.

Skills and Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.

Minimum of five years work experience in a related position or field, preferably in financial planning and analysis or similar role.

Combined experience in manufacturing and commercial environment is preferred, demonstrating an understanding of both operational and financial aspects.

Working knowledge of PeopleSoft/SAP, Hyperion Planning, HFM, Blackline, Qlikview, and PowerBi.

Strong proficiency in analytics and the ability to effectively present complex business issues in simple cause and effect explanations.

Ability to create complex forecasting models.

Ability to provide leadership and guidance to the management team and accounting staff.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Willingness to be held accountable for producing timely and accurate reporting while maintaining the highest ethical standards.

Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within tight timelines.

Expert command of Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
