Position summary:
New product development position for a hands on chemist working in state of the art laboratories with innovative teams to drive the future pipeline for Vision Care products at Bausch Lomb.

Position summary:
New product development position for a hands on chemist working in state of the art laboratories with innovative teams to drive the future pipeline for Vision Care products at Bausch Lomb.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and synthesis of new molecules, polymers, and formulations in alignment with the strategic business goals of Bausch health
- Function as a technical lead for research and development activities within a larger project team
- Accurate record keeping both electronically and in a laboratory notebook. The employee will also assist colleagues with routine departmental responsibilities.
- Execution of R&D activities leading to new product introduction within a project team for the development of new product processes including internally or externally manufactured products
- Analysis of raw materials, intermediate formulation mixes and final formulations using various state-of-the-art analytical techniques including but not limited to UV-vis, NMR, FTIR, viscosity, rheometer and others
- PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry/ Polymer Chemistry with 0-3 yrs experience or BS/MS- Synthetic Organic Chemistry/ Polymer chemistry with 5 yrs experience preferred in medical device or FDA regulated industry
- Experience in bioorganic or biopolymer chemistry is preferred
- Experience working in a GLP environment. Knowledge of general GLPs, as well as good documentation practices.
- Working knowledge in analytical chemical testing including UV/Vis, NMR, FTIR, viscosity, rheometer and others.
- A "hands-on" style that integrates with a strong, cohesive, team-focused work environment.
- Creative technical skills that lead to innovative approaches to the development process.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply creative solutions to challenges.
