Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Director to join our team. As an Activities Director, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating engaging activities for our residents in a nursing home setting. Your role will contribute to the overall well-being and quality of life for our senior residents. Duties: - Develop and implement a variety of recreational programs and activities to meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of our residents - Coordinate and schedule daily activities, ensuring a diverse range of options to accommodate different interests and abilities - Collaborate with other staff members to integrate activities into the overall care plan for each resident - Provide counseling and support to residents on aging issues and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed - Organize special events, outings, and holiday celebrations to enhance socialization and create memorable experiences - Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities and evaluate program effectiveness - Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines related to activities programming Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in social work, recreational therapy, or a related field preferred - Previous experience working with seniors in a nursing home or assisted living setting - Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members - Knowledge of aging issues and experience in counseling seniors - Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously - Proficiency in event planning and coordination - Ability to adapt activities based on individual resident needs and preferences This is a full-time position offering competitive pay.
