Baxter is growing and taking our operations to a larger facility! We are looking for a Lean Leader to direct the process/performance improvement program to improve work processes, standards, and productivity. The role will be based in our new state of the art facility located in the Greater Memphis Area at the intersection of I269 and HWY 302, which is 5 minutes from Olive Branch MS and Collierville TN.
As a core member of the Operational Excellence team, this person will be responsible for identifying and driving Lean Initiatives in our UCAN (United States and Canada) region across cross-functional teams. This leader will create a culture of continuous improvement by applying techniques from other industries such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and Kaizen events. This individual should be a strong team player with highly developed communication and presentation skills.
This position is eligible for relocation incentives for nonlocal candidates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement lean thinking and lean methodologies across the different sites in the UCAN Fulfillment organization to address required business improvements
- Assist in the coordination and development of the organization's Operational Excellent (OpEx) deployment plan to include supporting Productivity Initiatives / Value Improvement Projects (VIP), and Value-Added/ Non-Value-Added Analysis.
- Support Baxter Operating System (BOS) implementation, define lean strategies, standards, lean support requirements and implementation plans
- Perform end to end Value Stream Management of local processes and improvements
- Work closely with the site management to better understand how the Lean Leader can assist the sites in their continuous improvement journey
- Coach and mentor:
- Certified leaders to train and implement lean, pilot and deploy best practices and transfer lean knowledge across Integrated Supply Chain (ISC).
- Green Belt candidates and Lean Practitioners through their qualifications and their continuing recertification journeys
- Drive Lean Cultural Transformation across UCAN
Qualifications:
- Hands on experience implementing lean thinking, lean tools, and Kaizen events to drive lean improvements in high volume and low volume manufacturing operation and / or transactional operations
- Must be able to directly lead and/or co-lead high-impact process improvement projects, set priorities, and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
- Experience in effective root cause problem solving using lean, Kaizen, VSM and other improvement tools and techniques
- Must have experience working with cross-functional teams, as well as interacting with senior leadership team
- Demonstrate skills in planning, budgeting, negotiating, presentation, and project management directed toward achievement of business goals
- Proven Change Management experience
- Strong coaching, teaching, and facilitations skills
- Must be familiar with Toyota Production System (TPS)
Education and/or Experience:
- BS/BA degree or equivalent degree in Business Management, Engineering, or other related field of study required
- MBA, MS, or another technical graduate degree preferred
- Green Belt Lean Six Sigma certification required
- Lean Leader / Lean Practitioner / Lean Master certification preferred
- Scrum Master certification preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
- Five years of experience in a fast phase warehousing / distribution environment
- Broad business knowledge and ability to link customer needs with business processes
