Your role at Baxter:

This position is responsible for providing facilities engineering support to efficiently operate Baxter Round Lake's 24/7 production operations. The position focus will be on the successful operation of all facilities related utility systems and facilities related contracts for providing the production operations with quality services to meet and exceed all expectations. Responsible for optimizing facilities processes and manufacturing equipment, identifying process improvements and resolving engineering problems using lean manufacturing techniques and other problem-solving tools.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide technical support foroperations of all facility related utility systems in the plant.

  • Develop preventive, predictive, and calibrations procedures and oversee tasks as assigned in Maximo for plant utilities.

  • Provide technical support for general maintenance and repair activities for all HVAC, Boiler, Chiller, steam generation, RO waterand Compressed Air Systems.

  • Oversees the Fire and Inclement Weather System.

  • Oversees the Fire and Pest Control System.

  • Maintain and create buildingand facilities drawings.

  • Provides technical support, trainingand assistance to Facilities Technicians as required to troubleshoot and repair facilities equipment.

  • Owns, Operates, and continuously improves the building management system (BMS).

  • Generates and reviews all written procedures concerning maintenance of the equipment.

  • Assists in the plant safety programs.

  • Works toward plant EMS-Enterprise Management System goals.

  • Works with the Facilities team on the development and execution of plant shutdown activities.

  • Creation and implementation of OHSAS 18001, ISO 50001 and ISO 14001 Audit Plans.

  • Performs all regulatory and storm water and Annual Tier II Right-to-Know reporting.

  • Manages all waste streams continuously looking for and identifying reduction points.

  • Leads plant facilities projects as assigned.

  • Plans and implements design of facilities equipment and structural improvements.

  • Reports Energy, waste, recycling, and water usage monthly looking for trends and improvement opportunities.

  • Monitors construction activities to ensure quality and cost goals are met.

  • Supervises cleaning contractor to include job oversight and training.

  • Ensures building exterior and interior is kept in presentable condition.

  • Ensure plant has all applicable permitsand compliant tofederal, state, and local authorities.

  • Oversee plants environmental impact and ensure all personnel are trained in environmental awareness.

  • Lead site Energy Program to report and reduce energy consumption.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in an environment without daylight / windows.

  • Frequently ascends/descends a ladder to access machinery.

  • Lifting and/or moves up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move in excess of 50 pounds using lifting aids, techniques, or appropriate assistance.

  • Duties may require overtime work, including nights and weekends.

  • Use of hands and fingers to manipulate equipment is required.

  • Requires standing, walking, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing and crawling.

what you'll bring:

  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering Field or equivalent

  • Minimum of 5 yrs of experience in FacilitiesEngineering & Maintenance

  • Experience with quality systems/ISO requirements.

  • Experience in Medical, Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment preferred

  • Proficiency in reading and understanding control, process and wiring schematics and drawings.

  • Proficiency in researching and locating machine components utilizing the internet, catalogs and parts manuals.

  • Good organizational skills and ability to multitask is critical.

  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD and 3D modeling software.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $96,000 - $125,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commission, and/or long-term incentive.
