Your role

As the scrum master, you will ensure the team(s) achieve their stated objectives by reinforcing SAFe framework and Scrum principles, keeping the team focused on their goals, and facilitating all standard ceremonies. You will organize and facilitate all scrum related meetings (stand-ups, retrospectives, reviews, demos, etc.).

What you'll be doing

  • Facilitates getting the work done.
  • Work with the team to develop project plans, roadmaps and lead backlog.
  • Communicate team plans, report impediments for critical issue, identify risks/concerns to relevant team members to help resolve.
  • Monitor team backlog daily and ensure it accurately reflects the current state of the sprint.
  • Work with product owners and team members to refine vision and establish goals and metrics.
  • Track and communicate team velocity and sprint progress to all affected teams and management.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the product release by following all the governance standards.

Key Qualifications

  • Knowledge of well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, Retrospective formats, handling of bugs, etc.)
  • Experience with test driven development and automated testing is desired.
  • Ability to prioritize and present technical status to senior management.
  • Proficiency in delivering results on several technical challenges.
  • Encourages others to raise their performance bar, highly organized and brings quality orientation to everything they do (emails, document, code, etc.).
  • Passionate about continuous learning, can do demeanor, wears Thinkers Hat, can work multi-functionally with teams with varied strengths, uses current technologies, and believes in process simplification, quality conscious.
  • Proactively identifies & removes project obstacles on behalf of the team.
  • Shares knowledge, power, and credit, establishing trust, credibility, and goodwill Personal Attributes

Background and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors / Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or related field and 7 years related experience.
  • 4 years of experience leading both Scrum and Kanban Agile Teams.
  • Knowledge of tools used to assist with scrum team planning (ServiceNow, Jira, Agile Manager, Version1, etc.).
  • First Level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I) and/or SAFe Practitioner certification strongly preferred.

Desired Characteristics

  • Understanding of regulated Healthcare industry, FDA design controls requirements is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in regulated medical device company

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $96,000 to $132,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change.
