What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Buyer position at Bay 15?
We are seeking an individual who is self-motivated, manages time well, has critical thinking skills, and great problem-solving skills. The individual in this position will submit purchase orders on vendor web sites, edit purchase orders, research items, and communicate with Buyers on daily tasks. This includes interaction with vendors to solve problems and follow-up.
At Bay 15 you will begin your journey as an Assistant Buyer by going through hands on training where you learn the technical skills to become an expert in our buying process. You will work with a Buyer who will help guide and support you through training and beyond. You will also learn about cross-functional areas including planning and allocation and supply chain, among others which will impact your skills. Our buying career path is clearly defined and offers many opportunities for internal professional growth and advancement.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assists in company relations to meet their goals and standards as well as discovering new business
- Help Buyer solve menial and complex problems
- Acute attention to detail and ability to work with limited supervision
- Be able to handle various types and multiple tasks at one time
- Generates inventory and material usage and cost variance reports
- Identify issues on product pages
- Other tasks will be assigned with growth
Schedule:
Monday - Thursday: 7:30 am - 5:00 pm
Friday: 7:30 am - 12:30 pm
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent or higher
- Must be detailed orientated, analytical, and able to prioritize tasks
- Work at office every business day
- 2 year experience in Business, retail, supply chain, buying preferred'
