Job Description for Podiatric Medical Assistant/ Back Office
Rooming patients, assisting in Taking Shoes On & Off, taking Vitals
Prepare patient’s feet for Doctor’s care, obtaining Chief Complaint, response to treatment
Obtain Medical Information and inputting into EMR System
Update Medications, Pharmacy, Obtaining Primary Care Physician Visit Dates
Hands on care for toenails, bandaging, Taking Digital X-Rays, Modifying Arch Supports/shoes
Inventory and retrieval of medical supplies for in-office dispensing, sales to patients
Assist in Minor Surgical Procedures, drawing up Injectibles, Sterilizing Instruments
Maintain Supplies & Cleanliness of Exam Rooms including daily sweeping/vacuuming of floors
Cross Training for Front Office:
Welcoming & checking in patients upon arrival
Update patient information in EMR: Insurance, Pharmacy, PCP, Personal Data
Entering & Making new patient appointments in the EMR system
Insurance Eligibility Verification prior to patient arrival
Reschedule patient on their departure, enter specifics of follow-up in EMR
Create Order in EMR for Purchased Medical Supplies for tracking and future visits
Collection of patient co-pays, deductibles, out of pocket fees for visits and medical supplies
Taking phone calls and relating information to Dr. & staff through EMR
Direct communication with patients and local Medical offices for continuity of care
Benefits:
Pay based on experience and performance, $14 – $18 hourly
4 day work week (closed Fridays), 7:30 – 5:30 daily, (36-38 hour work week)
Simple IRA match up to 3% after 1 year

- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
