Collects objective patient data, provides patient care and comfort measures within scope of practice and as assigned by a licensed nurse. Reports observations of patient and outcome of data-gathering and care activities to licensed nurse. Documents appropriately in medical record. Monitors and adjusts patient and assists in activities of daily living. Adds safety to the patient who demonstrates behavior detrimental towards self or others.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Able to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position
- Deals effectively interdepartmentally & with the public
- Maintains confidentiality
- Demonstrates ability to organize work effectively
- Provides care that is appropriate to and respectful of patient's age, culture, and spiritual needs
- Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
- Excellent telephone skills
- Recognizes and reports abnormal occurrences
- Knows the fire plan and escape routes for patient and self
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES
- Ability to read, write legibly, and converse effectively in the English language
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant 2 in the State of Oregon
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) or must obtain by the last day of the month after the 60-day grace period
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Thorough knowledge of medical terminology preferred
EXPERIENCE
- Effective communication skills both verbally and written
- Experience in hospital as a CNA2 within the past two years preferred
