Reports To:  Director of Diversionary Services Supervisory Responsibilities: ●    Supervision of Recovery Specialists and Drivers Job Summary:  The Assistant Director of Diversionary Services provides on site oversight and administers the day-to-day operations of the services in conjunction with the Director of Diversionary Services, ensuring an on-site leadership presence seven days a week.  The Assistant Director of Diversionary Services contributes to Bay Cove’s mission by ensuring accessible, effective, and efficient operations and a treatment environment in which patients feel welcome and safe so that they can pursue their recovery goals.   This is an exempt position.  Essential Functions of Position: ●    In the absence of, and as delegated by, the Director of Diversionary Services:○    Collaborate with the entire multidisciplinary team in the provision of safe, respectful, compassionate, and trauma-responsive individualized medical, psychological, educational, and aftercare planning services. ○    Engage in staff recruitment, interviewing, hiring, orientation, training, work assignment, supervision, progressive discipline, and performance evaluation in accordance with agency policy for all disciplines in conjunction with the direct manager of the discipline.○    Schedule shift, supervisory, and on-call coverage for all disciplines well in advance to ensure minimal staffing requirements are met and a supervisor is always on duty 24/7 and manage schedules, PTO requests, and timesheet approval according to agency policy.○    Collaborate in the development and administration of the program budget, ensuring sound fiscal management via direct oversight of purchasing, verification of invoice accuracy, preparation of check requests and credit card statements, close monitoring of service utilization, and implementation of corrective action when revenue and expenses do not align with agency objectives.○    Ensure service compliance with all federal and state regulatory mandates, accreditation standards, contractual agreements, reporting requirements, interagency reviews, and Bay Cove Human Services policies and procedures.○    Complete all quality-assurance activities as scheduled in the monthly tracking calendar and lead the team in quality improvement activities including identification and implementation of improvement plans.○    Collaborate with the Vice President of Addictions & Homeless Services or Delegate, the Director of Operations, and program leadership to develop, review, and adjust program policies and procedures as needed.○    Conduct outreach and relationship building with Bay Cove and with community partners to facilitate referrals, ease care transitions, ensure continuity of care, and continuous collaboration and bring value-add relationships to the service. ○    Responsively address employee, patient, and community concerns, complaints, and grievances, with support from supervisor as needed.●    Carry out the duties expected of clinical and direct care staff when staffing levels necessitate up to the point qualified to engage in that task based on skills, experience, and licensure.●    Provide crisis assessment, prevention, and needed intervention during scheduled hours and while on-call in nights and weekends as scheduled by providing on-call coverage on a rotating basis.●    Other job-related duties as assigned.  All BSAS licensed programs must have at least one staff member designated to serve as coordinator of one of the following three topics.  If assigned, both supervisor and employee must initial to acknowledge the assignment: ●    Serve as the program’s Access Coordinator by developing and implementing the evaluation, plan, and annual review of the program’s performance in ensuring equitable access to services as required by 105 CMR 164.040(A)(11).  Initials:  ____/____ ●    Serve as the program’s HIV/AIDS Coordinator by overseeing confidential HIV risk assessment and access to counseling and testing; staff, patient, and resident HIV/AIDS and hepatitis education; and Department requirements for admission, service planning and discharge of HIV positive patients or residents.  Initials: ____/____  ●    Serve as the program’s Tobacco Education Coordinator by assisting staff in implementing BSAS guidelines for integrating tobacco assessment, education and treatment into program services.  Initials: ____/____ Requirements for the position: ●    A master's degree in one of the following disciplines or a closely related field: clinical psychology, education-counseling, medicine, mental health, psychology, psychiatric nursing, rehabilitative counseling, or social work preferred.●    Licensure eligible as a Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LMHC, LADC, LICSW, LCSW, etc,) preferred.●    At least five (3) years experience managing a multidisciplinary program or service, including responsibilities in hiring, supervising, fiscal management, quality assurance and compliance, with at least two (1) years of experience being in the behavioral health field.●    Demonstrated knowledge of local, state, and federal funding sources for Substance Use Disorder treatment programs.●    Demonstrated knowledge of the Substance Use Disorders system of care and related continuum of prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery support networks.●    A thorough understanding of Substance Use Disorders and co-occurring diagnoses, and a familiarity with the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria.●    Demonstrated professional writing, interpersonal, and organization skills.●    Intermediate proficiency in word processing and other computer functions using Windows, Word, and Google Email and Apps.●    Demonstrated commitment to a sustained effort to seek out, acknowledge, and respect the diverse voices of all stakeholders and to advance inclusivity through every function of the role and the agency as a whole. Personal Characteristics: ●    Utilizes a flexible and responsible work style that meets evolving needs of the agency.●    Works with integrity and respects the dignity and value of all individuals.●    Exhibits mission through job knowledge, pride in work role, and advocacy.●    Promotes diversity and inclusion of all individuals.●    Works in a collaborative, compassionate manner with stakeholders/partners. Physical Requirements ●    Ongoing detection and interpretation of information on documents, monitors, and labels and accompanying response, as well as to identification of equipment and supplies.●    Frequent interaction with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors requiring the employee to communicate, as well as detect and interpret information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, occasionally during emergency situations.●    Frequent communication of accurate information, instructions, and ideas so others will understand. ●    Operation of complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.  This includes frequent phone and computer use for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, etc.●    Bending to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment up to twenty (20) pounds.  ●    Frequent movement throughout the unit to access, obtain, or distribute supplies (sometimes pushing or pulling equipment), interact with patients, assist in the transport of patients, etc.●    Undertake lifesaving efforts by conducting CPR via the provision of chest compressions and rescue breathing as needed until relieved by medical professionals.●    Requirement to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time as needed.  Other Qualifications: ●    None
