Direct Material Buyer
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Direct Material Buyer are:
- Manage, efficiently and accurately, the daily execution of transactional purchasing activities within the SAP systems, of raw and packaging materials for formulation operations at the Kansas City Site through purchasing and order fulfillment management;
- Track purchase orders and expedite critical deliveries when necessary;
- Build effective, trustful, personal relationships with stakeholders and suppliers;
- Focus on optimizing purchasing processes by identifying new, useful tools (automation of administrative procedures);
- Collaborate with Site Production Planners, regional procurement as well as regional and global purchasing counterparts;
- Support projects in regional and global supply chain;
- Generate and share forecast demands to suppliers to ensures availability of materials;
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure all operations meet quality and safety standards;
- Analyses & definition on inventory levels (safety stock), purchase quantities and delivery dates based on relevant criteria to each material type;
- Submit purchase orders with proof of deliveries to accounting for processing of invoices or Yourdocs;
- Resolve issues that come up (e.g., delays in delivery, accidents, claims, damaged material;)
- Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements;
- Plan and keep track of delivery schedule for bulk and JIT materials;

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of work experience in Purchasing, Procurement and/or Supply Chain;
- Bachelor's degree with at least five years of experience on Supply Planning and/or Purchasing/Procurement; or master's degree in supply chain management or similar graduate degree without practical experience but proven knowledge of new technologies in administrative automation;
- Working experience of relevant software as SAP PBC, APO, Ariba, Smart Buy, Smartdesk and Microsoft Office applications.
- Comfortable working in a fast-pace, high-growth environment
- Able to listen, prioritize, and manage high complexity (purchase around 300 materials. Position will work with around 100 suppliers and around 2,500 purchase orders a year.)
