What are the responsibilities and job description for the ED Tech II position at Bayhealth?
The Advanced Emergency Department (ED) Technician involves the delivery of clinical nursing assistant services to patients. The Advanced ED Technician functions under the supervision of a licensed registered nurse or therapist; they provide care, which does not require the judgment and skills of a licensed professional. After competency verification, the Advanced ED Technician may deliver patient care services to the neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. The care may include, but is not limited to, the following: obtaining and recording in the EHR, blood pressure, pulse, temperature and pulse oximetry, drawing blood, EKG, transporting patients, obtain urine and stool specimens, perform point of care testing, assist with ED procedures, measure and assist in applying sling, cervical collar, splints and crutches, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulating, transferring, feeding, observing, and reporting the general well-being of the person(s) to whom they are providing care.
Must be a graduate of accredited school of nursing or a nationally registered Paramedic. Must have
Basic CPR Certification (BLS). Must be a graduate of accredited school of nursing; or completion of an accredited paramedic program. Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in DE, or compact state; or a Nationally Registered Paramedic (NREMTP). Must have basic computer literacy. Must have
knowledge of medical terminology; Blood Glucose Monitoring; HIPPA. Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
