The primary function of the Employee Health/Quality LPN Coordinator is to assist the following departments: Employee Health/Education, Infection Control and Quality. The LPN Coordinator will assist in clerical and clinical duties while maintaining documentation, records and reporting.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
The Employee Health/Quality LPN Coordinator reports to the Director of HR, Employee Health/Education/Infection Control RN as well as the Director of Quality. This position also works closely with all managers and employees of FFH.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Coordinates the hospital educational programs.
  • Coordinates the Employee Health program.
  • Consults and work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff members, peers and other members of the health care team.
  • Organize and maintain up-to-date, age-specific inpatient educational materials and resources.
  • Develop and update policies, procedures and forms for the Education /Employee Health, Infection Control and Quality programs.
  • Assist with planning, scheduling, and implementation of orientation programs for all levels of hospital personnel and students.
  • Assist with community/hospital events.
  • Adhere to Patient Safety Goals. Plan and coordinate education programs for physicians and staff regarding compliance with NPSG.
  • Coordinate BLS-CPR and ACLS courses for BBHS employees.
  • Provide health testing for employees and patients when necessary.
  • Maintains Health files for current BBHS employees.
  • Attend all unit meetings and mandatory education sessions as appropriate.
  • Maintain confidentiality, security, and integrity of patient and organizational data.
  • Assist with the employee health programs, assuring completion of employee’s initial and annual requirements.
  • Plan, organize, and implement orientation programs for all levels of hospital personnel. Update and revise programs on an as needed basis.
  • Coordinate/Conduct the annual influenza vaccination program for staff.
  • Coordinate/Conduct TB Mask Fit Testing annually.
  • Coordinate Quality and Infection Control meetings as well as taking meeting minutes.
  • Maintain organized employee health records.
DESIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • LPN graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current license as an LPN in the State of Louisiana
  • 1-2 years' experience as an LPN.
  • Previous hospital experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and written computer skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word programs required.
