This position will work in a small, private mental health clinic. As a medical office staff member, you will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support medical providers through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Update medical records
- Answer incoming calls
- Check in patients
- Take and record patient vitals
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Participate in prescription management including medication refill requests and medication reconciliation.
- Obtaining prior authorization for medications
Skills
- Proven working experience in a medical office is a plus
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
- Ability to type at least 45 WPM accurately
- Ability to provide utmost privacy and discretion for patients during often times stressful periods of life
- Professional demeanor
- Must be comfortable caring for adult, adolescent, and pediatric (age 5 ) patients.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
