What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transfer Station Attendant - Manzanita (Temporary Position) position at BBSI?
BBSI is currently recruiting a temporary Transfer Station Attendant in Manzanita for Tillamook County.
The Transfer Station Attendants collect solid waste disposal fees and maintains related paperwork. Typical job duties will include daily tasks such as:
- Directing and assisting customers in proper disposal procedures
- Monitoring incoming traffic for special or hazardous waste
- Provide information and enforce department policies and procedures
- Maintain transfer site area in clean condition
- Operate and maintain equipment on site as directed
This position is an important part of the community, and we're seeking an individual with experience, knowledge, and skill like the following:
- Basic knowledge of waste disposal practices
- Knowledge of rules, procedures, and operations of business practices (in order to perform the clerical processing procedures)
- Operation of small power tools and forklift (certification required within 30 days of hire)
- Customer service and cash handling skills
- Ability to follow procedures and policies independently and to use good judgement in handling customer questions
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
Required qualifications for this job include:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years' experience working with the public in a customer service role
- Valid Oregon driver's license and acceptable driving record
This is a 90 day temporary position, with the possibility of applying for a permanent position at the end of the temp period.
