What are the responsibilities and job description for the Walk-In Sand/Shotblaster (All Shifts) position at BBSI?
BBSI is currently accepting applications for Walk-In Sand/Shotblasters for our aerospace manufacturing client in SE Portland.
Walk-In Sand/Shotblasters clean the surfaces of large castings using air-propelled sand or shot in a walk-in booth. These individuals prepare casting surfaces for further cleaning, chemical milling, inspection, or gate removal. This position is an important part of the manufacturing process, and each day contributes to company success through job duties such as:
- Removing shell, scale, grinding marks and other material from castings.
- Maintaining equipment in good working order and maintaining clean work area.
- Taking responsibility for and demonstrating safe work practices.
This is a great entry-level position, and we are seeking individuals who are interested in starting a career in the manufacturing and/or production industry. Some experience and skills, such as the following, is needed for success in this role:
- Experience working as a Sandblaster or Shotblaster
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to read and follow instructions
- Ability to perform basic math calculations. (addition, subtraction)
- Physical ability to perform the essential job functions
