About the Role
Opposition is looking for a Music Talent Coordinator to join the team! If you are looking to kick-start your career with a team that works with some of the most influential names in music and online content, let’s talk!
Reporting to senior members of Opposition, you’ll gain exposure to the music industry world and support our team with the execution of project management and basic marketing and operational requests. You’ll manage a portfolio of music talent and play an instrumental role in managing rollouts for music artists across all genres while collaborating with multiple departments across the business.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the music industry, especially as it relates to digital platforms, and have skills in organization, written and verbal communication, time management and a customer service driven attitude. Within this role, the candidate must have the ability to coordinate multiple projects, problem solve and work under pressure in a fast-paced media and technology-driven environment.
Experience in the music industry is preferred but not required. Most importantly you have a passion for music. This role is suitable for someone looking to start their career in the music industry or project management and has made positive contributions in previous roles outside music and proactively make suggestions to improve tactics, and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of YouTube content creators in Music & respond to all requests in a timely manner.
- Project manage artist releases signed to Opposition’s Distribution & Label Services. Work with the team to ensure all tasks are completed around the release.
- Assist in executing influencer marketing campaigns including vetting, reaching out, and coordinating payments to influencers.
- Develop close, professional relationships with talent through various communication mediums.
- Quickly respond to talent questions and concerns regarding reporting/payments, partnership agreements, Company’s technology platform, copyright issues etc.
- Explore mutual collaboration opportunities between talent in the same and different content categories (Beauty and Fashion, Gaming, Entertainment, etc.).
- Ensure the delivery and execution of all talent eligible BBTV’s value adds, programs, and incentives to drive continual talent success and creator retention.
- Track and measure and analyze retention metrics for top talent.
- Work collaboratively with the Audience Development, Social Media, Content Acquisition and Partner Experience teams as well as cross-functional talents to develop and implement creative ways to improve client relationships and channels growth.
- Work with BBTV’s Branded Entertainment division to identify BBTV talent to develop and deliver advertising campaigns on Partner channels.
- Reach out & liaise with brands and media entities who work with online influencers with the goal of securing Branded Entertainment opportunities for BBTV’s top-tier creators.
- Identify strategic opportunities for your portfolio of talent to generate additional revenue streams and brand-building opportunities through music distribution, merchandising, app development, sync licensing and collaboration.
- Keep up-to-date on industry trends and provide ongoing marketing strategy to talent (e.g. programming, new platforms, audience development, best practices on social media platforms and streaming platforms)
Key Requirements:
- 2-3 years related experience in account management, premium service environment, music business (record labels, publishing, artist management, etc.) or digital marketing
- 1-2 years experience in the music industry with a strong understanding of the current music business landscape
- Experience in media, entertainment and/or technology industry is a plus but music experience is preferred
- Strong understanding of social media platforms
- Strong understanding of music streaming platforms
- Strong understanding of the YouTube platform and Channel Management is a bonus
- Superior verbal and written communications skills
- Proven client relationship management skills
- Ability to adapt in a quickly moving working environment and to stay collected in stressful situations
- Ability to be both, self-directed and highly collaborative
- Excellent time management abilities
- High attention to detail and extremely organized with strong project management skills
- Dedicated work ethic with a proactive mindset
- Ability to track, analyze and manage data and records
- Positive attitude fueled by ambition to drive results
- Passionate about music
- Having a strong design eye is a strong plus
- Post-Secondary Education or equivalent work experience
