LAW FIRM CONTROLLER

Top Plaintiff Texas Law Firm seeks a Controller. This position reports directly to the owner/founder of the firm and will interact closely with managing attorneys. The Controller will be responsible for performing day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and various other accounting functions. Job Summary:

  • Responsible for the preparation, review, and analysis of financial reports to summarize and forecast the company’s financial status.
  • Produce and manage balance sheets and analyze future earnings and expenses.
  • Management of accounting, auditing, and budgeting within the organization.
  • Perform regular, detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents and expenditures.
  • Oversee ledger reconciliation and manage accounts payable/receivables and client settlement disbursements.
  • Reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances.
  • Monitor bookkeeping activities regularly.
  • Establish sound accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with and prepare reports according to applicable government regulations.
  • Use accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.
  • Manage Law Firm Insurance coverage and 401K benefits.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and changes in regulations.

Education, Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA certification required
  • Minimum five years full cycle accounting experience in a corporate or law firm environment

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
