Job Title: Consumer Loan Officer
Position Type: Full Time
Job Description: Increasing the bank asset position through recruitment and retention of loan clients for the bank
Job Purpose: Increases loan portfolio by developing and servicing consumer loans including auto, residential mortgage loans, and secured and unsecured personal loans; attracting consumer loan customers; completing loan processing and closing.
Duties:
- Interview loan applicants to determine financing needs and to offer the appropriate loan products and repayment arrangement
- Verify loan documents including income credit appraisal and title insurance ultimately preparing application for submittal to underwriting
- Approve or deny loans based on authority following guidelines, policies, and procedures; estimating creditworthiness; calculating repayment risk
- Provide customers with overview of other financial products and services to support growth of deposit base
- Accomplishes consumer loan objectives by adhering to policies and procedures
- Meets consumer loan operational standards by contributing loan information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems
- Meets consumer loan financial standards by providing annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions
- Attracts new consumer loan applications by developing relationships within the community, making sales calls to prospective customers
- Completes consumer loans by monitoring collection, verification, and preparation of consumer loan documentation; scheduling and completing loan closing
- Protects bank's image by keeping loan information confidential
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
- Accomplishes bank mission by completing related results as needed
- Participates in continuing education opportunities as deemed necessary by management
