Network Support Engineer
BCforward is currently seeking highly motivated Network Support Engineer in the Columbus, OH
Role: Network Support Engineer
Location: Columbus, OH (Hybrid work model)
Contract: 12 Months contract to hire.
B Shift 1:00 PM to 10 PM - Sunday to Thursday
Hybrid - 2 days a week in the office
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Network Support Engineer must have a strong knowledge of Routing and Switching, Load Balancing, and Firewalls.
Experience in protocol Analyzers (Riverbed, Wireshark, OpNet) and Management tools (Splunk, SevOne).
Also must have knowledge of, or be willing to learn, scripting languages (e.g. Python) required for the development of automation.
Required Skills:
* Intermediate - 2-4 years experience
* Routing and switching knowledge
* Cisco Routing (primary skill)
* Firewall Exp (Fortinet and Checkpoint)
* Data Flow experience
* Management Tool exp (Splunk or SevOne)
* Domain Expert knowledge of the service, functional area or Infrastructure supported and interdependencies
* Understand infrastructure components and how they are tracked and managed in various systems
Skills (Nice to have)
* Scripting knowledge (Python)
* F5 Load Balancing
* Checkpoint firewall exp
Project:
* Network support based off tickets (Tickets from internal employees - monitoring tools or internal customers)
* Work ticket and contact customer if needed
* Tier 1-2 support (Sometimes Tier 3 for Full time engineers if converted)
* Researching network outages and figure out issues
* Working w/ Telko on service issues.
