Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 5 Years, A law firm in Richmond is seeking an experienced Environmental Attorney with at least 5 years of experience to provide counsel on a wide range of environmental matters. The candidate will interface with colleagues, clients, and regulatory bodies, advising on mergers and acquisitions, permitting, compliance, risk mitigation, and renewable energy projects. Duties:Advise clients on environmental matters related to mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, tax credits, and financing.Handle permitting issues concerning stormwater, air, and water emissions.Provide counsel on risk mitigation strategies and federal, state, and local regulatory compliance.Address emerging contaminants and renewable energy projects.Assist with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance.Interface directly with clients, colleagues, and regulatory authorities.Conduct legal research and analysis on environmental laws and regulations.Draft legal documents, including contracts, permits, and compliance plans.Manage cases involving pollution legal liability insurance and prior defense sites. Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.Admission to the Bar in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.Minimum of 5 years of environmental law experience in the public and/or private sector.Familiarity with federal environmental laws and standards, including CERCLA, NEPA, RCRA, TSCA, FIFRA, CWA, and CAA.Transactional experience preferred.Strong writing and communication skills. Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school. Certifications:Admission to the Bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. Skills:Comprehensive knowledge of environmental laws and regulations.Experience advising clients on transactional matters and risk management.Strong writing and communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.Proficiency in legal research and analysis.Demonstrated ability to handle complex environmental issues.Portable business preferred.
