Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 5 Years, Novi office of our client seeks a legal counsel with 5 years of commercial contracts experience. The candidate will provide daily legal support for legal issues raised in BG North America, including Mexico and Canada. Will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, and reviewing all types of contractual documents. Responsible for managing all litigation involving BG North America in connection with outside counsel. Provide support and guidance on labor and employment matters. Support the global Compliance Department. Support corporate projects in North America with close cooperation with headquarters in Switzerland. General advice in solving substantive legal issues. Handling legal disputes and litigation, including troubled supplier situations and customer disputes. Supporting HR with labor matters (including CBA negotiations, arbitrations, and grievances). Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a broad variety of contracts for BG North America functions such as Purchasing, Sales, Finance, Operations, and HR. Participating in international project teams as their business-minded legal advisor. Establishing and improving legal processes and designing templates and policies. Establishing a trust-related working relationship with the stakeholders across BG North America. Plan and provide legal and compliance training in close cooperation with corporate headquarter. Provide training to internal clients on relevant legal issues. Ensure regional variations and requirements are addressed appropriately. Providing legal advice (orally or written). Must be Licensed to practice law in Michigan. 10 years of experience be an advantage. Should have a working language English (additional languages would be an advantage, such as Spanish). Experience representing suppliers in the automotive industry is required. Law firm experience is required, preferably as a corporate generalist with a mid-size or large law firm. In-House Counsel experience with multinational corporations is required, ideally in the automotive sector. Employment and labor law are strongly desirable. A litigation background is desirable. Familiarity with relevant North American legal practices and requirements is required.Additional Skills: The candidate should have a Degree from an accredited law school of recognized standing. Must be a business enabler who provides solutions and options to business people. Practical, thorough, and attentive to detail is required. Being comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and delivering results is needed. Should have good analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be self-disciplined, highly organized, and able to work without supervision and prioritize own workload to meet deadlines. Excellent project management skills are needed. Able to provide accurate, high-quality yet practical and concise legal advice is required. Should be flexible and adaptable in a changing and challenging environment. Must be able to think out of the box when unexpected/unplanned events arise. Should have confident and professional presentation and negotiation skills. Excellent customer focus skills, both internal and external, are needed. Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and resourcefulness is required.
