The candidate will assist in legal research and writing. Will draft pleadings and memoranda of law. Draft patent applications and responses to Office Actions. Assist in representing clients in intellectual property matters. Maintains high standards of performance. Exhibits conscientiousness, dedication, self-discipline, and a sense of responsibility. Background in electrical engineering, electronics or electro-mechanical, and/or computer science is strongly preferred. Must be admitted to practice before the USPTO. Should be admitted in New York (or ability to waive in). This national law firm offers a full range of consulting services for their clients. Their areas of practice include litigation, intellectual property, business services, appellate, alternative dispute resolution, wills, trusts, estates, labor, employment law, and more. Their offices are located in Albany, Buffalo, Ithaca, New York City, Syracus, Saratoga Springs, Uniondale, and Melville, NY; New Haven, CT; and Newark, NJ.Additional Skills: The candidate should have superior writing skills and strong oral communication skills. Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent research skills. Strong skills with MS Office and expertise with computer-assisted legal resources are required. A professional, cooperative, positive, and flexible attitude is needed. The ability to work with diverse personalities within various levels of the organization is required. Should exhibit well-developed interpersonal and client relation skills.
