We are a boutique real estate investment company located in Westwood (Los Angeles) that specializes in buying large apartment complexes throughout California. Our business model consists of buying older buildings that are in need of remodeling, fixing them up, offering new amenities to the tenants, raising rents accordingly and in the process increasing the value of the asset. These are long term holds ranging from 3-7 years. We use a combination of bank financing, our own funds and 3rd party passive investor funds (via syndications) to purchase these properties.
Currently we have approximately $11M in Assets Under Management (AUM) with a portfolio of 53 units - and growing! Our goal is to exceed $100M in AUM in the next 3 years - which is aggressive but we believe we can do with the right team members!!
Our current accounting department consists of a Controller, an outsourced bookkeeper and a 3rd party CPA.
Due to the fact that our existing bookkeeper is retiring, we are seeking a part-time, Full Charge Bookkeeper/Property Accountant - ideally someone with real estate investment experience. The ideal candidate has active experience with QuickBooks, intermediate Excel operator, has excellent written and oral communication skills, and is a self-starter. We're looking for someone who can work well with our team on a long-term basis as we grow!
Please note:
- This is a part-time, 1099 position.
- Some on-site work may occasionally be needed.
Job Description:
- Review and post property management reports into QuickBooks upon receipt
- Prepare Accounts Payable selection for approval twice a month
- Reconcile bank statements into QuickBooks before the 5 th of each month
-Reconcile corporate credit card each month and assign charges to the appropriate entity
-Reconcile corporate line of credit each month
- Maintain QuickBooks records with accuracy
- Maintain Master Budgets and Prepare Financial Statements monthly
-Prepare Quarterly financial reports for 3rd party investors
- Enter data into QuickBooks and our office Software
- Organize and preserve accounting and property management records
- Support other team members as necessary
- Direct report to the Corporate Controller and Partners
Qualifications:
- Masterful Experience of QuickBooks online version
- Intermediate Knowledge of Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experienced with Microsoft Office products
- Self-starter and Team player
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent problem solver and always reliable
- At least 5 years of experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper is preferred
-Prior experience working in real estate investment or property management is preferred
-An accounting degree is preferred
