The Buyer position will process and maintain Direct POs for products and services related to production and materials to support customer demand. The Buyer will also coordinate logistical details of finished good product shipment and sterilization.Job Description
Essential Job Functions:
- Process and maintain Direct POs for products and services related to production and materials to support customer demand
- Coordinate logistical details of finished good product shipment and sterilization
- Support Accounts Payable inquiries on supplier payment.
- Communicate regularly with departments for sample order requests and related suppliers for order tracking and delivery confirmation.
- Work collaboratively to resolve issues and remain calm and professional. Effective and clear communication to broad groups of associates, including management, is critical.
- Expedite requests as needed to meet production demands and handle any rejections / late deliveries. Escalate risks to management.
- Assist in identifying improvement opportunities as they relate to material ordering and logistics process
- Enforce all applicable purchasing and SOX policies. Participate in audit activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Clear Communicator: Strong written, verbal, and listening skills. Able to communicate effectively with external suppliers and internal stakeholders. Able to prepare information for management. Able to quickly and openly communicate challenges and suggest solutions.
- Organized: Demonstrated ability to keep organized with multiple responsibilities and deadlines. Good decision-making and problem solving skills. Detail-oriented. Time management and workload prioritization capabilities are key.
- Team Player: Able to collaborate, establish and maintain effective working relationships across all parts of the business.
- Adaptable: Comfortable working in ambiguous situations with some guidance from management. Possesses a positive questioning attitude, able and willing to dive into the why.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
- 1-3 years of purchasing experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current purchasing practices.
- Experience working and maintaining relationships with external suppliers.
- ERP systems experience a plus.
