The Pyxis Development team currently are looking for a Director – Product Management. Candidates who would fit well in this position have an educational background in computer science or related degree, possess real-world experience working in collaborative, enterprise environments, are knowledgeable of modern software engineering frameworks, collaborate well with high-pace, hard-working agile teams, and are passionate about personal and team growth.  Additionally, qualified candidates would have a demonstrated track record of success in delivering healthcare products from ideation to productive customer use.  An ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with a mix of on-premise and cloud native system deployments.  The candidate will be responsible for guiding product development of a cloud-native architecture suitable for both software and hardware devices within the healthcare ecosystem. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Technical leader of sophisticated medical device portfolio(s) and important sub-project(s) with responsibilities for large elements of the product development effort

  • Represent R&D in the multi-functional development team, collaborate to define technical product strategy and technology roadmaps

  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership to advise and in-direct reports with the ability to deep dive into technical issues

  • Lead and work with R&D functional leaders to assign engineering subject areas to achieve portfolio goals.

  • Mentor, develop and performance lead talent assigned to the portfolio

  • Able to develop a coordinated R&D product development project plan and own an extended team to deliver and implement efficiently and with sound quality

  • Drive and lead innovative problem resolution at an accelerated pace

  • Implement outstanding R&D tools, processes & standards within the development portfolio.

  • Responsible for IP generation that protects the portfolio and establishes an offensive market position.

  • Expand engineering, problem-solving, and lean agile development techniques

  • Work in a development environment which supports both organic and inorganic development opportunities

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering or related field

  • Minimum of 10 years related work experience in R&D technical engineering leadership roles

  • Understanding of full cycle product development and a clear understanding of quality management systems. Medical device new product development is desirable

  • Leadership experience in a sophisticated development environment in partnership with a matrixed organization and external technical suppliers.

  • Ability to lead multi-discipline engineering teams that may consist to meet planned achievements.

  • Demonstrated analytical, decision making, prioritization and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong business acuity and customer centricity

  • Experience with new product development milestone planning and Agile project management methodologies for complex systems

  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills, strong technical writing skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to bring clarity to ambiguous areas to drive decisions.

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% (domestic and international)

Salary ranges may vary for Field-based and Remote roles.
