Operations:
Uses judgment to plan, perform, make decisions, troubleshoot and problem solve in performance of fundamental maintenance tasks.
Prioritizes daily work assignments to meet production needs and department goals.
Responsible for preventive maintenance scheduling, completion of work orders and tasks as assigned.
Consistent presence in production departments. Monitors the production lines and proactively evaluates equipment performance for repairs and continuous improvement.
Must possess basic mechanical aptitude to complete changeover of equipment and some operator level preventive maintenance.
Assist with root-cause analysis activities for process or product exceptions.
Checks work using prescribed gauges, jig and fixtures to measure close tolerances.
Ensures accurate documentation of all relevant quality, safety and maintenance documents.
Works with high level of supervision
Works with external contractors and vendors as needed
Demonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Must follow all BD housekeeping policies and procedures
Must follow all BD safety policies and procedures
Must be able to work overtime as required to meet BD business requirements.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED & Certificate in relevant field will consider no experience due to certification in relevant field or High School Diploma or GED with 2 years relevant experience required.
Relevant Fields: Electrical / Electronics Technician, Electromechanical Technician, Mechanical Engineering Technician, Industrial Programmer, Electrician, Machine Builder / Repairer, Machinist, Refrigeration Mechanic, Welding Repairer.
Job Specifications:
Time management skills ensure all tasks are completed without delay.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to work with various teams.
Mechanical, pneumatic and electrical skills, must analyze, troubleshoot and repair complex equipment and machinery.
Ability to read electrical and pneumatic schematics.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, diagrams and equipment specifications.
Flexible and adaptable in working with/on a variety of equipment, processes, projects or assignments.
Understanding and use of trades mathematics, calibration techniques, and precision measuring instruments essential.
Constant mental and visual attention performing moderately complex work requiring close limits of accuracy and tolerances.
Must be knowledgeable in the following areas:
Use of a PC including MS Excel & MS Word.
Basic mechanical aptitude
Basic electrical aptitude
Basic hydraulics, pneumatics aptitude
Ability to use multimeter
Sensor technology
Basic plumbing (fluid and pneumatic)
Power transmission (gear box, motors, belt and chain drives)
Basic machiningElectrical troubleshooting of circuits from low level signals up to 480 VAC.
Additional experience preferred:
Troubleshooting of Industrial Control Systems (instrumentation, ladder logic, relay logic, vfd, servo etc.)
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of PLC operations, robotics, and vision systems.
Mechanical design (AutoCad, Solidworks, etc.)
SAP maintenance module or equivalent computerized system
WeldingBasic skills in use of mill, lathe, welding, bearing press.
