Job Description Summary

The successful candidate will lead the development and execution of key product feature sets with a cross-discipline team to ensure the IDS ID/AST next-generation solution delivers a comprehensive and customer centric solution to the market it serves in a timely fashion. The Systems Solution Lead will identify, manage, and execute feature releases that enable product launches and ensure robustness and reliability driven by customer feedback and commercial and quality objectives that aim to advance customer adoption and satisfaction through their primary role as a product owner for multiple Informatics-based software teams. The Systems Solutions Lead requires a strong understanding of the laboratory Microbiology market, within the scope of the development team, in order to manage work priority based on the overall vision and schedules set by R&D engineering leadership, the Microbiology Core Team, and the Microbiology business

Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides day-to-day leadership for multiple software development teams, both local and remote to ensure on-time delivery of feature and product releases.
• Translates voices of customer, business, field service, and internal customers to define and prioritize feature backlog for development team.
• Takes an active role in identifying and solving tactical challenges faced by development teams to minimize unnecessary development delays.
• Ensures robust two-way communication with program and engineering leadership regarding team progress and challenges.
• Drives feature design to deliver optimal balance of scope and delivery timeline for the next generation ID/AST Informatics platform
• Maintains continual engagement with customer-facing team(s) to continually validate planned feature work and prioritization against dynamic market needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

          KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Strong oral and written communications skills
• Previous experience as a Product Owner within a Large Scale Agile framework
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to positively develop and manage collaborations with cross functional members to drive expected outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to work with and/or lead technical teams effectively in the absence of a direct reporting structure.
• Strong knowledge of the laboratory environment
• Working within a laboratory environment is strongly desired
• Familiarity with engineering disciplines, particularly software development, to drive credibility with technical teams.

          EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering, with MS or MBA degrees preferred.

• A minimum of 8 years of related field experience with at least two years' experience assigning and directing day to day work of technical individuals and teams.
• Previous experience working within an Agile product development framework is desirable with successful commercialization experience in Product Owner roles preferred

• Previous experience in the biomedical industry and experience with IVD instrumentation is desirable.
