Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Shipping Clerk to join our warehouse team. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of outgoing shipments, maintaining proper documentation, and assisting with various warehouse tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our distribution process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure orders are processed, received, reviewed, and shipped accurately and efficiently using our inventory management system.
- Responsible for coordinating and ensuring the availability of appropriate shipping materials for outgoing shipments. This involves collaborating with vendors to synchronize on-hand inventory and reduce costs associated with packaging and shipping products.
- Oversees the shipping process, utilizing the skills and capabilities of team members to successfully accomplish tasks and meet delivery goals.
- Ensure proper packaging and labels are applied to customer orders in accordance with established guidelines to ensure safe and secure transportation.
- Prepare and verify shipping documents, including packing lists, bills of lading, and shipping labels, to accompany each shipment.
- Liaise with shipping carriers and freight companies to schedule pick-ups, track shipments, and resolve any issues that may arise during transit.
- Perform quality checks on outgoing shipments to ensure they meet established standards for accuracy and condition.
- Contribute to maintaining an organized and clean warehouse environment, including shelving, storage, and work areas.
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as Customer Service and Sales, to ensure clear communication regarding order status and shipment updates.
- Address and resolve any shipping-related issues, such as incorrect addresses, damaged goods, or delivery delays, in a timely and professional manner.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including proper handling of hazardous materials and compliance with OSHA regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Prior experience in a shipping or warehouse role preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing orders and documentation.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Physical ability to lift and move packages of varying sizes and weights.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving skills to address shipping-related issues effectively.
