Job Definition:
Receiving Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the daily department activities. The supervisor is responsible for the motivation of team to meet or exceed productivity, quality, and customer service standards. The supervisor will work with the Manger of Warehouse Operations to implement and evaluate standard BDI receiving processes to ensure maximum efficiency and accuracy
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the day-to-day production of the receiving department by effectively managing team members and interfacing with other supervisors and CD99 management.
- Ensures inbound shipments are reviewed for accuracy, sorted swiftly, and properly stocked with current inventory.
- Ensures daily operations are maintained and/or adjusted to meet production standards.
- Directly responsible for labor management of their team to include staffing, scheduling, overtime management and wage & hour compliance.
- Responsible for assisting with hiring, training, coaching, and counseling of staff to provide ongoing support and development.
- Provides regular performance feedback utilizing all BDI resources including the completion of goal setting, training completion and performance reviews.
- Model and promote BDI culture and core competences (integrity, learning/growth, resourcefulness & teamwork) to create a safe, productive, and overall positive work environment within the packing and shipping departments.
- Troubleshoots and resolves safety, service, and other operational problems in collaboration with Manager of Warehouse Operations
- Performing a daily inspection of the department for safety hazards and cleanliness.
- Responsible for goal setting and performance reviews of department.
- Responsible for other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- H.S. Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team and drive performance.
- Attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Time management skills and the ability to delegate
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
