PURPOSE
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and team members that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP will focus on building, creating and nurturing a credible business partnership while supporting the deployment of tools and programs to drive alignment, performance and capability. Ideal candidate is a highly tactical and self-motivated person who thrives in a dynamic work environment and demonstrates a flexible and adaptable work style that responds quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines. They are a result orientated contributor who sets the performance bar at the highest standard of excellence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Consults and guides with the business on execution of talent practices that focus on improving work relationships, facilitate conflict resolution, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Conducts regular, pro-active meetings with team leaders to develop, assess, and anticipate talent needs and to gain a deep understanding of business goals and strategy
- Advises and trains managers and supervisors in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing supervisor problems and employee complaints. Develops further training as needed.
- Ensures the uniform and equitable application of HR policies and procedures across the enterprise; assure governmental compliance including labor relations, EEOC and DOL. Consults with external employment law attorneys as needed/required.
- Act as a liaison between client groups and the HR Operations functions, when necessary, support various human resources operational functions, including benefits, compensation, compliance, legal, etc.
- Consult on the development of HR solutions relating to people practices, tactics and strategy that support that internal client group’s business needs.
- Analyzes and leverages metrics, trends and insights in partnership with the HR group and key stakeholders to develop solutions, programs, policies and practices. Bring solutions to continuously improve HR support to the business around efficiency, process and performance.
- Keeps pulse on progressive HR industry trends and thought leadership and participates in professional development sessions or seminars.
- Performs escalated employee relation investigations, including claims of sexual harassment, discrimination, and other claims against any protected category.
- Other tasks as requested by management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, related field or relevant work experience required.
- Minimum of 4 years working in Human Resources.
- Minimum of 2 years dealing with employee relations issues.
- Advanced expertise in Microsoft 365, Office and HR related systems.
- Previous experience managing process, programs, and projects from initiation to completion.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, both orally and written.
- Strong judgment, agile thinker and creative problem solver.
- Ability to maintain professional demeanor under pressure of a fast-paced business environment and work effectively with leaders at all levels.
- Ability to maintain the upmost confidentiality and work with sensitive information and matters.
- Advanced knowledge in Employee Relations and Legal matters related to human resources and employee management, including workers’ compensation, FMLA/ADA, and federal and state employment laws as demonstrated by successfully handling sensitive employee relations issues
