Job Summary:
BDSA's Professional Services mission is to drive adoption, expansion and retention of the BDSA suite of products by delivering strategic projects with excellence in the form of actionable insights, intelligent solutions and remarkable service. As a member of the Professional Services Insights team, the Professional Services Insights Analyst will lead the delivery of insights and analytics projects designed to help BDSA clients make actionable, proactive, data-driven decisions within the cannabis space.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Lead delivery of strategic client projects designed to help BDSA clients understand cannabis markets, brands, categories, pricing, consumers/shoppers, and beyond. These projects may pull from a range of syndicated BDSA data sources (such as scan data, consumer surveys, store level data, etc.) as well as client datasets.
- Assist Professional Services Director and Commercial Development team in scoping project methodologies and determining feasibility of requests
- Identify recurring project requests that can be modified into broader syndicated products
- Effectively manage cross-functional project teams of analysts and/or contractors on a per-project basis, collaborating closely on deliverables and client relationships, overseeing client communication and ensuring delivery is on time and on scope.
- Support the development and activation of Professional Services pipeline, working closely in support of the Commercial Development team.
- Develop a rapport as a consultative partner. This includes communicating value, driving engagement, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Create compelling and proactive presentations, telling insightful stories and demonstrating value with strategic findings and recommendations.
- Complete analyses and communicate complex analytical results, and corresponding implications to clients in a manner that will be easily understood.
- Coordinate with internal SME's to respond promptly and accurately to ad hoc client requests/issues.
- Become an expert in the Cannabis industry and an enthusiastic, knowledgeable ambassador for proprietary products to provide ongoing value and support your dedicated client(s), addressing both short term and long-term opportunities and challenges.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong phone/video/in-person presence, interpersonal and persuasion skills with the ability to build relationships and communicate with diverse individuals or groups.
- Comfortable pushing back and guiding clients in the right direction if the wrong questions are being asked.
- Expert in MS Office including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Knowledge of SPSS and MS Excel VBA.
- Knowledge of "CPG" market research methodologies, analytics, and modeling.
- Experience in BI visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Sisense, etc.)
- At least a basic understanding of data warehousing and data architecture.
- Ability to learn new software and platforms quickly.
- Ability to learn and apply automation techniques for repetitive tasks and recurring report structures
- Ability to display data visually and effectively demonstrate the value of analytic and insights deliverables.
- Effective and creative problem-solving skills, able to challenge conventional approaches.
- Effective communication and influence skills.
- Strong self-awareness and the ability to adapt style and behaviors to meet client needs.
- Strong time-management and task prioritization skill
Job-related Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, communications, statistics, applied mathematics or related field.
- 2 years of professional experience in market research, analytics, and project management.
- Experience translating analytics including statistical modeling, data mining, and advanced segmentation into actionable insights.
- Proven track record managing projects in one of the following or similar industries: Cannabis, CPG, Retail, Food & Bev, Alcohol, Tobacco, Financial Services, Software.
- Experience analyzing and solving CPG-focused challenges including but not limited to: innovation planning, pricing analytics, promotional analytics, forecasting, assortment planning, product portfolio management, consumer segmentation, consumer targeting, retailer sales stories, etc.
- Prior experience working with consumer research respondent level datasets, retail sales data (scan data or POS data), segmentation data, loyalty or shopper data a plus
- Prior knowledge of the cannabis industry is NOT a requirement, but interest in learning the industry inside and out is a must.
Compensation: $60,000 - $75,000
