Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Mobile Operations, this position provides operational and administrative assistance to the entire program. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload and recommend office practices or procedure changes. With several contract cities in Orange County, the mobile response teams provide intervention, referrals, transportation, and support to those needing mental health, substance abuse, housing, and addiction treatment services. Working closely with the Be Well OC leadership team, as well as the police, fire, and city leaders of your assigned city, you will provide operational and administrative leadership and management to a team of passionate Crisis Intervention Specialists and a Case Manager. An innovative and flexible approach to leadership and management is needed for this dynamic role. Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Lead a team of passionate crisis intervention specialists (CIS), a CIS-Lead, and a Case Manager, guiding their efforts with a strategic vision to provide the highest level of care to those in need.
  • Shape the direction of our crisis support services and foster a culture of excellence.
  • Attend and actively participate in meetings with Police Dept, Fire Dept, and other local first responders; Local social service agencies; County Department of Health and other government health organizations.

Program Management:

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure our services are cutting-edge, effective, and adaptable to a rapidly evolving landscape.
  • Provide supervision and accountability to the Crisis Intervention Specialists.
  • Respond to high-intensity situations with police and fire along with the medic supervisor during regular business hours.
  • Conduct interviews and collaborate with the HR team as needed.
  • Manage mobile staff schedules, filling vacancies as needed.
  • Serve as a backup CIS worker for a van as needed.

Quality Assurance:

  • Provide oversight of intervention practices.
  • Implement performance metrics, conduct audits, and refine processes to ensure the highest standards of care.
  • Disseminate program data to stakeholders in coordination with Mobile Leadership and the Data Management Team.
  • Ensures that mobile staff and operations align with the Be Well Culture of Care, and stays abreast of organization's programs and services.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of client cultural, ethnical, and linguistical needs.
  • Handles data requests and releases, including confidential or sensitive information in an appropriate manner.
  • Safeguards confidentiality; adheres to HIPAA policies.
  • Exercises the highest discretion and ethical prudence for records and for participant interactions.

Other Duties as Assigned:

  • Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, and/or changed at the discretion of management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1-year supervisory and leadership experience with demonstrated impeccable ethics.
  • Proficiency with clinical terminology.
  • Three years in crisis intervention and/or field-based intervention, preferred.
  • Knowledge of patient rights, confidentiality, and laws pertaining to health care, mental health, and substance use.
  • Must be American Heart Association BLS certified on the date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment.
  • Ability to promote a positive, supportive recovery culture.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal/cultural sensitivity to work with diverse and disenfranchised mental health populations.
  • Proficiency with software and/or equipment (Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; EHR systems).
  • Knowledgeable about harm reduction, trauma-informed care, patient-centered care, and motivational interviewing.
  • Works to promote harmonious and effective relationships within the program and organization by such actions as routinely offering assistance to others.
  • Must pass a stringent criminal background check and driving record review, both conducted by the city’s police department.
  • Valid CA driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Knowledge of Orange County resources (housing, substance abuse, mental health, shelters, etc.)
