Baton Rouge, Metairie, Slidell, Hammond, Bogalusa, Bunkie, Opelousas, and Lutcher.
We currently provide inpatient programs and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) that provide therapy to those struggling with emotional disorders, substance abuse, and mental disorders.
Over the past 2 years, Beacon has expanded its service line to partner with Psychiatric Private Practices in TX, AR, MS, FL.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science degree in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation with a Therapeutic concentration. Master's preferred. Must be licensed or certified by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification.
Minimum of 1 year of job-related experience.
Experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Plan, organize, facilitate, and evaluate Therapeutic Recreation programs to address patients' social, emotional, physical, cognitive and spiritual needs related to maintaining quality of life.
Works collaboratively with the social worker to complete the psychosocial assessment, including but not limited to leisure and recreation assessment within 72 hours.
Thoroughly document therapeutic interventions on the daily progress note and assure that all documentation is complete prior to billing for services.
Participate as an active member of a multidisciplinary team by attending weekly treatment teams.Create treatment plans and programs that meet patients' needs and interests.
Maintain inventory of all activity/therapy supplies.
Participates in discharge planning under appropriate supervision; fax discharge packets, obtain written consent to release information, coordinate discharge transport, and other duties as assigned.
Supervises Activity Therapy Interns and Recreation Technicians in accordance with the program's policy and procedures.Responsible for developing monthly activity calendar of therapeutic events that will.
Assist patients' with treatment goals and enhancing leisure skills as they relate to mental illness.
Participates in performance improvement activities to ensure important processes and activities are measured, assessed and improved.
