Job Posting for TMS Technician at BEACON BEHAVIORAL SUPPORT SERVICES
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our mental health team as a Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Technician. This role involves assisting in the delivery of TMS therapy, a non-invasive procedure used to treat depression and other mental health disorders. The ideal candidate will have a background in healthcare, a strong understanding of mental health conditions, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
Conduct pre-treatment assessments and screenings to ensure suitability for TMS therapy.
Educate patients on the TMS procedure, including its benefits, risks, and expected outcomes.
Prepare and set up TMS equipment according to established protocols.
Administer TMS therapy sessions under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider.
Monitor patients throughout treatment sessions to ensure safety and comfort.
Document patient progress and any adverse reactions to treatment accurately and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients undergoing TMS therapy.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment rooms and equipment.
Stay updated on advancements in TMS technology and techniques through ongoing training and professional development.
Qualifications:
Certification as a TMS Technician or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
Experience working in a mental health setting, preferably with individuals experiencing depression or other mood disorders.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact compassionately and effectively with patients.
Attention to detail and the ability to follow established protocols and procedures.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Basic understanding of brain anatomy and physiology.
Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help improve the lives of individuals struggling with mental health challenges.
Additional Requirements:
Must adhere to patient confidentiality and privacy regulations.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate patient schedules.
CPR certification may be required.
Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move equipment as needed.
