Lead General Maintenance Worker

POSITION INTRODUCTION: The Lead General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings, requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. This position also includes supervisory responsibility for other workers on the project.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide supervision and direction to other workers on the project in conjunction with the Site Supervisor.
• Replace electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.
• Patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
• Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
• Tape or paint areas of the floor for equipment staging.
• Paint structures and equipment.
• Use appropriate chemicals and solvents to clean industrial plant equipment and machinery.
• Minor maintenance of facilities to include replace door handles, unclog sinks/toilets, replace light bulbs, etc...
• Repair or replace concrete floors, steps, sidewalks, damaged paneling, floor tiles, and window panes.
• Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Perform snow removal using tools and equipment such as shovels, snow blowers, and tractors. This also includes the application of sand and/or ice melt to roads, and walkways to prevent potential safety hazards.
• Operate equipment such as scissor lifts for operations such as removing icicles from building eaves.
  Act as an escort for third-party contractors performing work in specific areas in which a security clearance is needed to gain access.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to gain government security clearance.
• Valid State Driver's License (Must have held license for a minimum of one year)
• 2 years' experience performing trade work such as painting, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• 1 year experience working in a supervisory or management role.

Hours: Monday-Thursday 0500-1500
