About this opportunity
In supporting the Memorial Hospital Stroke Program, this internship position will encompass responsibilities for the following tasks, functions, and / or projects:
- Attend the delivery of stroke services via shadowing in direct patient care and clinical rounds (i.e., emergent Code Strokes, inpatient management, etc.) toward enhancing the Intern’s understanding of the delivery of stroke care
- Develop and implement a community education project focusing on the improvement of stroke awareness and vascular risk factor literacy in the community
- Establish and foster relationships with community leaders and organizations that could address disparities in stroke awareness and health education
Required Skills and Experience
Preferred candidates will be currently enrolled and majoring in healthcare-related fields, Healthcare Administration, or an academic major directly related to the position details provided above (such as Information Technology, Marketing, Human Resources, etc.). Currently enrolled sophomore, junior, or senior-level students are preferred; however, all students are encouraged to apply.
