Function: A Store Associate provides the best possible service to our guests on the selling floor resulting in repeat guests and increased sales. To achieve this goal, teamwork will be required among all employees. Certain non-selling tasks must also be completed to maintain exceptional guest service. Interaction 1. Reports to Store Manager 2. Interaction with District Manager and Regional Director Essential Duties and Responsibilities Guest Experience - Greet and assist all guests - Upholds a culture that builds exceptional internal and external guest experiences. - Maintains high guest readiness standards and delivers a neat, clean, and easy to shop store environment. - Creates a positive fitting room environment through guest interaction and recovery. - Works well with others to accomplish tasks, solve problems and achieve goals. - Builds guest loyalty through our loyalty and credit card programs. - Holds self-accountable to high performance standards to meet guest and company expectations. - Personally, models a positive guest experience, ensuring the guest always takes priority. - Perform all requirements and functions of the POS terminal systems in an efficient and timely manner. - Perform receiving duties and merchandising duties. - Assist Management to ensure the ongoing protection of Company assets and funds from theft and errors throughout the entire store. - Correctly apply and follow all Company policies and procedures. - Treats our product with care and respect by maintaining a clean, neat and organized store. - Ensures the proper handling of merchandise functions within the store including markdowns, processing, sizing, and recovery. - Creates a positive Fitting Room environment through guest interaction and recovery. - Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Physical Demands - Must have adequate vision, speech, hearing, and physical ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations. - Must have full hand and arm usage for operating machines such as POS terminals and ticketing machines. - Must be able to climb stairs to stockroom (if applicable) to replenish and maintain merchandise. - Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry at least 20 pounds. - Must have full body rotation and mobility (i.e. bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching). - Must be able to reach a minimum of 60 inches to stock and maintain merchandise. - Must be able to handle cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuum, broom, mop and duster) to maintain store cleanliness. - Must be able to climb a 6 ft. ladder for maintaining and presenting merchandise (if applicable). - Required to stand on feet 95% of the day Limitations to Authority A Sales Associate will need approval from a Supervisor or Manager for the following: - Processing check and charge transactions beyond specific limits set by the Company. - Accepting guest returned merchandise. - Leaving the assigned work area; this includes leaving the floor for breaks, meals, and trips to the stockroom. - Resolving guest complaints frequently requires the approval of a Supervisor, especially if a deviation from normal policy is required. - Merchandising placement/displays must be approved by the Supervisor to ensure that the area is merchandised according to Company adjacencies. - Making exceptions to guest service policies Qualifications - High school diploma. - Ability to work varying hours and schedules to include days, mid shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays. - Knowledge of company standard software, systems, and procedures. - Must have strong verbal communication skills and guest service skills.
